NAZA and Its 100+ Sources: What the Filmmakers Say About Their Reporting

The team behind NAZA says its reporting drew on more than 100 sources, beyond the 24 anonymous insiders who appear in the finished film. The figure comes from a statement by a Guardian spokesperson.

What the filmmakers say

After the IDF issued a statement disputing the film, a Guardian spokesperson said the 24 participants were involved in multiple stages of the targeting process. The spokesperson said the testimonies were checked against leaked classified documents, verification of specific strikes and a wider pool of confidential sources who did not appear on camera.

Why the number is important

The distinction between on-screen interviewees and the wider reporting pool matters. “24 interviewees” describes the film’s visible testimony; “100+ sources” describes the broader reporting claim made by the Guardian spokesperson.

What remains reviewable

The public cannot independently inspect every confidential source. Readers should therefore compare the filmmakers’ methodology with official responses and other reporting rather than treating the source count alone as proof of every allegation.
