NAZA Awards: Venice Special Jury Prize and Festival Recognition
NAZA won the Special Jury Prize at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival in September 2026. That award became part of the documentary’s international rollout before its wider theatrical release.
Venice Special Jury Prize
The Guardian announced on September 12 that NAZA had received the Special Jury Prize at Venice. The film had premiered two days earlier in competition.
Why the Venice award matters
Festival awards affect how a documentary is distributed, reviewed and searched. For NAZA, the award was followed quickly by global distribution announcements and the U.S. theatrical launch.
Awards are not fact checks
An award recognizes a film as cinema; it does not independently verify every factual claim made in the film. The documentary’s reporting claims should still be evaluated using the sources, responses and evidence pages.
