Yuval Abraham and NAZA: Director, Journalist and No Other Land Co-Director

Yuval Abraham is an Israeli journalist and filmmaker who co-directed NAZA with Rachel Szor. He was also one of the four directors of No Other Land, and his investigative reporting with +972 Magazine and Local Call forms part of the reporting background behind NAZA.

His role in NAZA

Abraham is one of the film’s two directors. NAZA extends reporting he and partner outlets had published during the Gaza war into a feature documentary built around anonymous military and intelligence testimony.

Connection to No Other Land

Abraham and Szor were two of the four directors of No Other Land, the documentary set in the West Bank that won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.

Journalism behind the film

The Guardian says NAZA grew out of investigations published by The Guardian, +972 Magazine and Local Call. After criticism that 24 anonymous interviewees could not support the documentary’s broad conclusions, The Guardian said the reporting process involved more than 100 sources, including senior officers and documentary evidence.

Public controversy

Abraham and Szor have faced severe criticism and political threats in Israel. Those reactions are part of the public story around NAZA, but they do not by themselves establish whether any specific factual allegation in the film is correct. Claim-specific pages should be read alongside the IDF response and independent reporting.

October 7 context

NAZA examines the war that followed the Hamas-led October 7 attack. Explore documented footage and evidence from the events that preceded the military campaign.
